Remember Me
Late again with my Poem of the Month for September, 2026… Sorry! Broken right arm got in the way.
Then, wouldn’t you know… An invitation for a long-time friend’s 90th birthday arrived in the mail, and I knew immediately which poem to use: REMEMBER ME.
I hope you enjoy it… and remember also that whatever the question, love is always the answer!
REMEMBER ME
When you remember me it means
That I have left some mark
Of who I am on who you are.
Between us there’s a spark.
It means you’ve carried part of me
Within your mind or heart.
It means I can be summoned back,
Though years or miles apart.
It means that if we meet again
You’ll know just who I am.
After I die you’ll see my face,
And heartspeak… to the hologram.
For as long as you remember me
I’m not entirely gone.
When I’m feeling my most ghostlike,
Your remembering carries me on.
